Yes most utilities have accepted this as being an option for you if you already have a microFIT system installed. We have installed dual systems with Halton Hills Hydro, Milton Hydro, Hydro One and many others. The only exception we have found so far is Oakville Hydro and we are working with their legal department to change this.
